Basic Bread Recipe
Small portion – for one loaf
- 1 sachet yeast (7g)
- 1 tsp sugar
- .25 c water (tepid)
- 2 c bread flour
- .5 c water (tepid)
- .5 t salt

Activate yeast. Add sachet of yeast and sugar to tepid water. Leave 10 minutes. This is a good way to ensure the yeast is still active before adding to the other ingredients.

Add flour, salt and water. Combine to make a dough. Add more water or flour if necessary.

Knead for 5-10 minutes then pop in a bowl, cover with a tea towel, and leave the dough to rise in a warm place til the dough has doubled in size.

Once the dough has risen, knock down and shape.

Allow the dough to rise a second time then pop in the oven at 180degC for 25 minutes
