Shapes copycat recipe
My man-friend is a bit of a junk food junkie. When we are travelling we can't get his favourite Shapes crackers. This recipe fixes his cravings.
Ingredients
- 50 g parmesan grated
- 100 g tasty cheese grated
- 200 g plain flour
- .5 c ice water
- 1 t garlic powder
- 1 pinch salt
Topping sprinkle
- 2 t sumac
- 2 t smoked paprika
- 1 t mixed herbs
Instructions
- Put cheeses and flour together in a blender and create a crumb
- In a bowl, add the iced water with the cheeses and flour
- Using your hands bring the ingredients together to form a dough kneading gently. Your hand heat will soften the cheeses and dough will form.
- Cut the dough into four pieces. Wrap/cover 3 to prevent drying out. Roll out later.
- Between two sheets of baking paper, roll out the dough until it is about 2mm thick.
- Add any sprinkled toppings now and press into dough (or use spray oil then sprinkle).
- Using a sharp knife cut the dough into shapes. Keep in mind that the dough will shrink by about a quarter.
- Line a baking tray and cook for 15 minutes at 180deg, until golden.
