Steamed pancakes
Make your own for duck pancakes. These pancakes are simple to make and are lovely and elastic.
Equipment
- Bamboo Steamer
Ingredients
- .5 c plain flour
- 1 c boiling water
- 1 t sesame oil
Instructions
- In a bowl add the flour and stir in the boiling water
- Mix until it forms a dough ball
- Once cool enough to handle knead the dough until smooth
- Cover and rest dough for 20 minutes
- Prepare steamer and place in liner
- While water is coming to the boil prepare the dough by portioning it into 10-12 pieces
- Roll out pancake as thin as you can and that fits the steamer
- Steam for a minute or so. While this one is steaming start rolling out the rest
- Steam, roll, repeat, until wrappers are done
Notes
Lightly brush each one with oil to prevent sticking and keep warm under a tea towel
